Bob Mills, environmental advocate and Conservative MP for Red Deer since 1993, is installing a state of the art Solar Electric System and Solar Thermal System.

The Solar Electric System features 28 Sharp Solar Panels totaling 5.8 KW and an Outback battery based Grid tied inverter system. The battery based unit is capable of helping the Electrical Grid during times of peak usage while also providing backup power during grid failures.

The Solar Thermal System uses high performance Apricus Evacuated Tube collectors to heat the domestic hot water.

As you can see in these pictures the roof pitch has been built for direct panel mounting and the roof and panels sized to effectively make a solar roof of maximum size and efficiency.
